about

The track "Deep Inelastic Scattering," and holds multiple meanings for me. One of these is scientific, as the is the process that was used to demonstrate that Quarks are real entities and not just hypothetical mathematical "virtual" particles. Such a cool idea here- something is not yet "real" until demonstrated. I used a bunch of sounds that simulated the inelastic scattering event going on. But, rather than this being the point, I think it's rather more symbolic and metaphorical. The scattering process also seems to render not only the protons and neutrons (which were bombarded with very high energy electrons) apart, but in the track it feels like the ego is being rendered apart by inelastic scattering. Thus, the process of dissolution of self demonstrates the reality we experience fully.
